Quality Engineer position available in the Bluffton, Indiana area.
This is a direct hire opportunity with a pay rate of $85k. This is an on-site, day shift position supporting the company's quality management system and provide hands-on functional support to the production operators machining precision products. Sign on bonus available!
Roles & Responsibilities for the Quality Engineer position may include but are not limited to:
- Support the Quality Control department by performing measurements, calibration, testing, Quality System Management for IATF 16949 certification, and documentation.
- Comply with all company safety, quality, and environmental standards.
- Perform first-piece, in-process, roving, and dock inspections to ensure product meets specifications.
- Operate and program manual/programmable CMMs and various inspection equipment and gages.
- Read blueprints and interpret GD&T requirements.
- Perform gage calibration, maintenance, troubleshooting, and measurement system studies (Gage R&R).
- Support production, engineering, and other departments with quality investigations and special measurement requests.
- Monitor and report rework, scrap, supplier quality, and inspection data.
- Create and maintain inspection plans, inspection sheets, and quality documentation for new and existing products.
- Maintain and support the Quality Management System (QMS) and IATF 16949/ISO certification requirements, including PPAPs, audits, lab methods, and reports.
- Schedule and support IATF/ISO audits and corrective actions.
- Use ERP, gage calibration, Microsoft Office, and Excel software for data entry, analysis, and reporting.
- Prepare quality charts and reports, including capability studies, histograms, supplier scorecards, and related documentation.
- Communicate effectively with engineering, manufacturing, and production teams.
- Follow all company safety, quality, and environmental requirements.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Requirements for the Quality Engineer position:
- 5+ years of experience in a CNC, Manufacturing environment
- Must have experience with IATF and ISO audits
- Working knowledge of ERP software
- Proficiency with measurement devices and blueprint reading
- MS Office Suite proficiency
