Amsted Automotive Group – Powder Metal Division in Beaver Dam, WI seeks a Quality Engineer to develop and maintain quality systems, analyze manufacturing process performance, and support the plant management team to drive customer satisfaction. The role emphasizes IATF compliance, data-driven improvements, and leadership of quality initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Experience with IATF Quality Management System and internal auditing is preferred.
  • Strong analytical and mechanical aptitude with attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with APQP, PPAP, PFMEA and new product launches.

Responsibilities

  • Supports IATF Quality Management System and internal auditing activities.
  • Leads corrective action and problem-solving efforts to drive improvement.
  • Manages data collection, SPC, and supplier development activities.
  • Supports capital projects and APQP for new programs.
  • Ensures compliance with quality standards in production and suppliers.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Amsted Automotive Group – Powder Metal Division in Beaver Dam, WI is looking for a Quality Engineer to develop and establish quality systems, analyze manufacturing process performance, and assist with the application of the quality control plan. This position will develop and maintain the quality planning that will support the quality objectives, financial metrics, and KPIs, provide support to the plant management team, and oversee the control of measurement equipment to drive customer satisfaction.

WHAT YOULL DO
  • Supports IATF Quality Management System
  • Supports IATF Internal Auditing program Reviews, integrates, and measure quality specifications and processes
  • Supports continuous improvement and cost reduction activity Leads corrective action and problems solving activities
  • Leads capital projects Supports APQP process for new program launches
  • Leads internal PPAP requirements and customer submissions Leads shopfloor data collection and SPC
  • Supports and measures supplier development activities Perform Analysis of prototype, prelaunch, and in-process product
  • Support customer portals and digital document control Leads corrective action and problems solving activities
  • Support daily NCMR reporting and MRB area Coaches, trains, and mentors junior quality engineers and technicians in quality tools and root-cause problem solving
  • Perform other related duties and projects as assigned
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
  • Working knowledge of statistical process control
  • Quality oriented with attention to detail
  • Possess excellent analytical and mechanical skills
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Demonstrated familiarity with quality management such as green belt, black belt, CQE, etc. At a minimum must be open to obtaining these certifications.
  • Demonstrated capability in managing all facets of the quality function in the automotive supplier environment (manufacturing environment – preferably in a metal manufacturing or fabrication environment).
  • Demonstrated familiarity with quality systems knowledge and experience within the IATF quality certification environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in working with formal problem solving tools to drive continual improvement such as 8D, 5-Why, Fishbone diagrams, etc.
  • Understanding of APQP, PPAP, and PFMEAs and new product launches.
  • Demonstrated track record of being results driving while managing multiple priorities.
  • Must be an individual with the highest ethical standards who is a strong communicator capable of motivating and leading individuals to perform at their best.
