Job summary

Technology Recruiting Solutions seeks a high-impact Plant Quality Leader to guide quality operations at a major automotive manufacturing site in Michigan. You will lead a Quality Engineering team, partner with Operations and Engineering, own quality initiatives, support new product launches, and ensure IATF 16949 compliance while strengthening customer relationships.

Reporting to site leadership, you will drive continuous improvement, APQP/PPAP activities, and develop Quality Engineers.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Experience leading automotive manufacturing quality in a large operation.
  • Proven track record implementing IATF 16949, APQP, and PPAP.
  • Strong customer-facing communication and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all plant quality activities and oversee the Quality Engineering team.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality performance and customer satisfaction.
  • Develop and execute annual quality improvement plans aligned with plant objectives.
  • Lead APQP activities (PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans, MSA, capability studies, dimensional layouts, gage & fixture design).
  • Ensure customer PPAP submissions are completed accurately and on schedule.
  • Build strong relationships with customers as the primary quality contact.
  • Support successful product launches by collaborating with Operations, Engineering, and Manufacturing.
  • Maintain compliance with IATF 16949 and company quality systems.
  • Utilize SPC, DOE, and structured problem-solving to improve performance.
  • Recruit, mentor, develop, and evaluate Quality Engineers.
  • Monitor quality metrics and implement action plans to improve performance.
  • Promote a safe work environment and comply with safety policies.

In this role you lead plant quality operations at a high-volume automotive facility, guiding a Quality Engineering team and partnering with Operations and Engineering to drive performance. You Own quality initiatives, support new product launches, and ensure IATF 16949 compliance while strengthening customer relationships. Your impact spans continuous improvement, supplier and process optimization, and a safe, compliant work environment. Key requirements
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Recent leadership experience within automotive manufacturing
  • Proven success managing quality in a large, complex automotive operation
  • Strong knowledge of: IATF 16949, APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans, SPC, MSA, DOE
  • Experience leading and developing Quality Engineers
  • Excellent customer-facing communication and relationship-building skills
