Job summary

Venteon partners with a leading automotive supplier in Adrian, Michigan to identify an experienced Quality Engineer for a 1st shift, direct-hire opportunity. Competitive compensation, bonus potential, excellent benefits, paid holidays and vacation are offered.

The ideal candidate has 3–5+ years in automotive QA, strong APQP/PPAP experience, and familiarity with IATF 16949 and ISO 14001. You will lead quality activities, support supplier quality, and drive continuous improvement across the plant.

Qualifications

  • 3–5+ years of Quality Engineering experience in automotive manufacturing.
  • Strong knowledge of APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans, and AIAG Core Tools.
  • Experience with IATF 16949, ISO 14001, and customer-specific quality requirements.
  • Proficiency with GD&T, blueprint reading, SPC, capability studies, and Gauge R&R.
  • Experience utilizing structured problem-solving methodologies, including 8D.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • CQE certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead quality engineering activities supporting production, customer programs, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support APQP activities, PPAP submissions, Process Flow Diagrams, PFMEAs, DFMEAs, and Control Plans.
  • Investigate customer and supplier quality concerns utilizing 8D and other structured problem-solving methodologies.
  • Analyze SPC data, capability studies, Gauge R&R studies, and dimensional inspection results to improve manufacturing performance.
  • Review GD&T, CMM reports, engineering drawings, and fixture designs to ensure compliance with customer requirements.
  • Conduct internal audits and layered process audits while supporting compliance with IATF 16949 and ISO 14001.
  • Coordinate corrective and preventive actions with customers, suppliers, and internal departments.
  • Support supplier quality activities, including PPAP approvals, supplier development, and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Assist with new product launches, engineering changes, and prototype validation.
  • Develop and deliver quality training while supporting plant-wide quality initiatives.
