Job summary

Nutreco's Hi-Pro Feeds USA (Trouw Nutrition division) seeks a Detail-oriented Quality Coordinator to oversee quality and food safety programs across multiple locations. You will work with Operations, Sales, Nutrition, Procurement, Customer Service, HSE, Finance, and Laboratory teams to drive QA/QC activities, audits, testing, and recalls.

A background in animal or food science and QA/QC experience is required.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or degree in Animal Science, Food Science, Agricultural Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 2+ years of QA/QC or related experience
  • Knowledge of livestock nutrition, food safety, feed milling, manufacturing, or agriculture is an asset
  • Strong communication, organization, and time management skills
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word
  • Strong math skills and understanding of the metric system
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Self-starter who can work independently and collaboratively
  • Continuous improvement mindset with a willingness to learn
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel up to 10% between locations
  • Nice to Have FSPCA Preventive Controls for Animal Food Certification
  • HACCP for Food Processors Certification
  • Experience with supplier audits, food safety programs, laboratories, or feed manufacturing environments

Responsibilities

  • Own the quality and food safety programs across Hi-Pro Feeds USA locations
  • Ensure products and manufacturing processes meet customer expectations, Nutreco standards, and regulatory requirements
  • Coordinate quality assurance and quality control activities across sites
  • Conduct audits and inspections, coordinate laboratory testing programs
  • Investigate quality issues and administer mock recalls and recalls
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and protect feed safety, product consistency, and customer confidence

What you’ll do

As a Quality Coordinator, you will own the quality and food safety programs across Hi-Pro Feeds USA locations, ensuring products and manufacturing processes meet customer expectations, Nutreco standards, and all applicable regulatory requirements. Working closely with Operations, Sales, Nutrition, Procurement, Customer Service, HSE, Finance, and Laboratory teams, you will coordinate quality assurance and quality control activities, conduct audits and inspections, coordinate laboratory testing programs, investigate quality issues, administer mock recalls and recalls, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
