Job summary

Barrett Paving Materials Inc. is seeking a Quality Control Technician to operate the production workstation, ensuring high-quality output within deadlines while adhering to safety regulations.

The role involves testing aggregates, asphalt, and concrete, documenting results, and collaborating with production and engineering teams to resolve quality issues. A high school diploma is required; a related degree is preferred, with opportunities for professional development.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in a related field (e.g., engineering, materials science) is preferred.
• Previous experience in quality assurance/quality control, preferably in the construction or paving materials industry.
• Knowledge of quality control methodologies, standards, and testing procedures.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with team members and other departments.
• Proficiency in using testing equipment and software related to quality control.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds repeatedly

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular inspections and testing of raw materials, in-process materials, and finished products to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications.
• Perform various tests on materials, including aggregates, asphalt, and concrete, using appropriate methods and equipment.
• Document and maintain accurate records of testing results, inspection findings, and quality control measures taken.
• Identify any quality issues and work with production and engineering teams to implement corrective actions.
• Assist in the development and refinement of quality control procedures and standards.
• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and best practices while conducting inspections and tests.
• Collaborate with other departments to provide support and guidance on quality-related issues.
• Participate in audits and assessments to evaluate the effectiveness of quality control measures.
