Job summary

Van Drunen Farms in Momence, Illinois, is seeking a quality assurance specialist to inspect materials and finished products, verify dates, and support food-safety compliance within a 3rd shift at the Farm Plant.

This full-time role offers pay of $21.50–$22.50 per hour, benefits including medical/dental/vision, life insurance, paid holidays and vacation, tuition assistance, and a 401(k) with company match.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2+ years of manufacturing or food production experience preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and accurate record keeping.
• English communication; Spanish a plus.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and verify raw materials, packaging components, and finished products for quality and food safety.
• Monitor and document quality processes: code dates, scale calibration, metal detection, sanitation, traceability.
• Identify non-conforming materials and work with Production and Quality leadership to resolve issues.
• Support HACCP, FSMA, environmental monitoring, corrective actions, and investigations.
• Assist with continuous improvement to strengthen product quality and operations.
• Train production team on quality procedures and documentation practices.

What You’ll Do

• Inspect and verify raw materials, packaging components, and finished products to ensure they meet quality and food safety specifications.
• Monitor and document quality processes, including code date verification, scale calibration, metal detection checks, sanitation inspections, and traceability requirements.
• Identify, isolate, and elevate non-conforming materials or products while partnering with Production and Quality leadership to resolve issues.
• Support food safety and regulatory compliance activities, including HACCP, FSMA, environmental monitoring, corrective actions, and incident investigations.
• Assist with continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen product quality, food safety, and operational performance.
• Train and support production team members on quality procedures, food safety requirements, and accurate documentation practices.

What You’ll Bring

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Two or more years of manufacturing experience preferred, ideally within a food or beverage production environment.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English; Spanish language skills are a plus.
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and email applications.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills with a commitment to food safety and quality standards.
