Job summary

Shamrock Foods Company in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a Quality Assurance professional to maintain and improve QA processes in our manufacturing facility. You will audit products for quality and safety, review incoming materials and ingredients for allergen checks, and ensure HACCP compliance and proper documentation.

The role requires attention to timelines, ability to work under pressure, and collaboration with production teams to uphold standard work processes and plant sanitation.

Qualifications

  • Meat protein experience relevant to QA in food manufacturing.
  • Understanding of QA SOPs and ability to perform pre-operation checks and basic documentation under supervision.
  • Ability to work under tight timelines and in high-pressure situations.

Responsibilities

  • Audits products for quality and safety prior to sending out to customers.
  • Audits incoming raw materials for supplier specifications, quality, and food safety.
  • Reviews incoming ingredients for allergen checks and quality standards.
  • Responsible for compliance with all regulations; ensures plant is in sanitary condition and allergen control is maintained.
  • Fills out paperwork for product audits and HACCP documents.
  • Reviews HACCP documents before handing paperwork to QA Supervisor/Manager.
  • Collaborates with operational teams daily on paperwork, quality checks, and HACCP procedures.
  • Ensures adherence to standard work processes, including Production Sanitation.
  • Assists in plant training and training frequency planning with QA leadership.
  • Maintains understanding of processes and interdependencies to identify risks or opportunities for improvement.

Description

Shift Details: Monday to Friday, 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM

Summary: Maintains all aspects of Quality Assurance to ensure proper, safe and exceptional operation of the department.

Essential Duties:

  • Audits products for quality and safety prior to sending out to customers.
  • Audits incoming raw materials for supplier specifications, quality, and food security.
  • Reviews incoming ingredients for allergen checks and quality standards.
  • Responsible for compliance with all regulations. Food Safety – plant in proper sanitary condition at all times, including allergen control, pest control, guidelines followed.
  • Fills out necessary paperwork for product audits and HACCP documents.
  • Reviews HACCP documents prior to handing paperwork to QA Supervisor/Manager.
  • Work with operational teams daily with paperwork, quality checks, and HACCP procedures.
  • Ensure adherence to all standard work processes, including the Production Sanitation processes.
  • Aides in plant training requirements and training frequencies. Work with QA Supervisor/ Manager to ensure plant training requirements and frequencies are met. Conduct plant training sessions as needed.
  • Maintains understanding of processes and functional interdependencies. Recognize and escape, as needed, those issues identified as risks to, or opportunities to improve, plant performance.
  • Regular and reliable attendance.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • Meat Protein Experience
  • HACCP certified, preferred
  • Must be able to work within timelines and in high pressure situations
  • Must understand basic QA SOPs; can perform Pre-Op and basic doc verification with supervision
