Job summary

Vulcan Materials Company is seeking a Quality Control Technician to inspect aggregates, prepare and test samples, and interpret results to ensure ASTM and VMC standards are met on all materials. This role requires accurate documentation and the ability to advise improvements to operations.

Responsibilities include field and lab testing, equipment calibration, and collaboration with inspectors to resolve quality issues.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Some college preferred.
• 0–2 years laboratory testing experience in construction aggregates.
• Experience in the materials testing field is a plus.
• Certifications such as ACI/N.I.C.E.T. preferred.

Responsibilities

• Samples and tests aggregates using standard test methods.
• Field and laboratory testing to assure QC at production, shipping and site.
• Test methods include ASTM, AASHTO and DOT.
• Communicate test results to supervisor and document in database.
• Inspect stockpiles, material sources, and truck loads; calibrate equipment.
• Develop and maintain relationships with inspectors and customers.
• Perform housekeeping and maintain reports.
