Job summary

Vulcan Materials Company is seeking a Quality Control Technician to inspect materials, prepare and test samples, and report results in alignment with ASTM and VMC standards. The role involves field and lab testing, documenting results, and advising operations on quality improvements.

The position requires a high school diploma (some college preferred) and 0–2 years of lab testing experience in construction aggregates. Certifications such as ACI or N.I.C.E.T. are encouraged.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Some college is preferred.
  • 0–2 years laboratory testing experience in construction aggregates/HMA/RMC properties.
  • Certifications such as ACI Concrete Laboratory Technician Level I, N.I.C.E.T. Level II, and state/local certifications are preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Samples and conducts testing on aggregates according to standard test methods.
  • Field and laboratory testing to ensure QC of products at production, shipping and at the jobsite.
  • Communicates test results in a timely manner to supervisor and documents in database.
  • Troubleshoot problems and review basic product specifications.
  • Develops and maintains relationships with inspectors and customers for communication of results and issues.
