Job summary

Vulcan Materials Company is seeking a Quality Control Technician responsible for inspecting materials, preparing and testing samples, and reporting results to ensure conformance with ASTM and company standards. You will help identify causes of quality issues and advise on corrective actions to keep production on track.

The role involves both field and laboratory testing of the complete product line, with emphasis on timely communication of results and proper documentation.

Qualifications

• Typical requirement is 0–2 years of laboratory testing experience in construction aggregate/HMA/RMC.
• High School diploma required; some college preferred.
• Certifications such as ACI Concrete Laboratory Technician Level I, N.I.C.E.T. Level II, and state/local certifications preferred.
• Must be able to document inspection and testing activities clearly.

Responsibilities

• Sample and conduct testing on aggregates following standard test methods.
• Perform field and laboratory testing of the full product line at production, shipping, and jobsite.
• Communicate test results to supervisor and document in the data base.
• Calibrate and maintain testing equipment.
• Inspect stockpiles and material sources for contamination.
• Develop relationships with inspectors and customers to communicate results and resolve issues.
