Job summary

Granite Construction Incorporated is seeking a materials QC inspector to sample, test, and inspect aggregates and asphalt to ensure compliance with project specifications. The role involves coordinating QC activities with crews and lab staff, interpreting test results, and maintaining detailed QC logs.

Responsibilities include obtaining required certifications, following safety policies, and maintaining a clean, safe work environment on site in Sacramento.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent years of experience.
• Basic literacy and computation skills.
• Basic proficiency in Excel is required.
• Previous quality or manufacturing experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Tests and inspects Aggregate and Asphalt products at various stages of production.
• Obtain and maintain certifications as required to perform testing.
• Maintain thorough understanding of specifications, testing and reporting requirements.
• Communicate and schedule QC activities with crew and inspection personnel.
• Interpret specifications and discuss with crew and inspection staff.
• Make decisions based on knowledge of specifications and testing requirements.
• Collect material samples, send samples to lab, interpret results and distribute information to crews and inspection staff.
• Maintain all QC log books and reports in accordance with specifications.
• Follow OSHA and Company safety policies and procedures, including attendance at safety meetings.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
