Job summary

Granite Construction Incorporated is seeking a quality control professional to sample, test, and inspect construction materials in lab or field settings, ensuring compliance with supplier and owner specifications.

Responsibilities include performing tests, interpreting results, maintaining QC records, coordinating with crews, and following safety policies; a high school diploma and 4+ years of related experience are required, with basic computer and Excel skills, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of related experience required.
• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent years of experience.
• Basic computer skills with intermediate Excel proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Tests and inspects products at various stages of production process and compiles and evaluates statistical data to determine and maintain quality and reliability of products.
• Obtain and maintain certifications as required to perform testing.
• Maintain thorough understanding of specifications, testing and reporting requirements.
• Ability to communicate and schedule QC activities with crew and inspection personnel.
• Ability to interpret specifications and discuss/argue with crew and inspection staff.
• Interprets engineering drawings to ensure work is performed per plans and specs.
• Collect material samples, send samples to lab, interpret results and distribute information to crews.
• Maintain QC log books and reports in accordance with specifications.
• Follow all OSHA and company safety policies and attend safety meetings.
