Division Overview:

Crown’s Beverage Division manufactures a variety of packaging solutions for soft drinks, craft beers, coffees, and teas. Here is your chance to join the Crown Beverage Division.

Location: 1035 E. North St., Bradley, IL.

The Quality Control Technician works closely with Supervision to ensure optimum levels in Quality Inspections, Testing, Package identification, and Final packaging.

Duties And Responsibilities:

  • Report directly to the Quality Assurance Manager and Production Supervisor.
  • Understand and follow verbal instructions to completion of assigned tasks.
  • Ensure a quality product is produced through inspections and testing.
  • Responsible for the quality of all operations for the production of aluminum beverage cans.
  • Identify quality problems and disposition.
  • Communicate pertinent information between management, co-workers, and shifts on changes to equipment or production problems.
  • Assist and train new Technicians as needed.
  • Follow JHA’s, SOP’s, Rules, and maintain gauging equipment.
  • Perform accurate and continuous quality checks and record keeping.
  • Complete necessary documentation such as monthly SAFE cards and hazard reporting.
  • Perform other job-related duties as required.

Job Requirements:

  • High School Education/GED.
  • 2-3 years experience in inspecting, testing, packaging, and high-speed manufacturing environment.
  • Must be available to work various shifts, including nights and weekends.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Knowledge of OSHA training in a manufacturing environment.
  • Beverage Packaging Quality industry experience.
  • Knowledge of AS400, QAS, and NWA.
  • 6S Training.
  • Problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently or with a team.
  • Effective leadership skills.
  • Excellent time management and multi-tasking skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft programs (Excel, Word, Access, etc.).

Physical Requirements:

  • Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, use hands, and may be required to balance, stoop, kneel, or crawl.
  • May lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Working Conditions:

  • Works in a manufacturing, office, packaging, and warehouse environment.
  • Exposed to light lifting and warehouse forklift traffic.
  • Production noise level is frequently loud.
