Job summary

SRM Concrete (Smyrna Ready Mix) seeks a Detail‑oriented Quality Control Technician to help ensure concrete meets high industry standards. Training is provided for newcomers, with opportunities to learn from experienced professionals in a national leader in ready-mix concrete.

The role involves routine testing of materials, collaboration with production teams, and maintaining thorough quality records. Some shifts may be overnight; the company offers competitive pay and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Willingness to work variable shifts, including day and overnight pours.
• On-the-job training provided for beginners in QC or concrete industry.
• ACI certification is a plus or willingness to obtain it.
• Associate or bachelor’s degree in Materials Science, Concrete Management, Construction Management or related field preferred but not required.
• Experience in QC, QA, or construction materials is a plus but not required.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office); quality management software is a plus.
• Willingness to complete SRM’s pre-employment screenings.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and non-routine testing of raw materials, in-process, and finished ready mix concrete using industry-standard methods.
• Interpret test results and compare them to established specifications and control limits.
• Conduct visual inspections of concrete products to ensure compliance with quality standards.
• Collaborate with production and operations teams to troubleshoot and resolve quality issues.
• Deliver quality control training to production staff as directed by management or technical services.
• Maintain accurate records of tests, analyses, and quality-related activities.
• Stay current on industry trends, technologies, and regulations to help improve our quality control processes.
