Job summary

Adecco Healthcare & Life Sciences in Charles City, IA seeks a Quality Control Technician in Bacteriology & Immunology to support routine testing in a regulated QC environment. This hands-on role performs basic bacteriology and immunology assays, maintains documentation, and follows aseptic technique and cGMP standards.

Training will be provided on site-specific methods and systems. Schedule is 6am to 2:30pm, Monday to Friday; 1-year contract-to-hire with potential for advancement and benefits

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Relevant laboratory coursework, an associate degree in biology, microbiology, biotechnology, chemistry, or a related science, or equivalent hands-on laboratory experience is preferred.
• Basic understanding of aseptic technique and contamination control.
• Ability to perform accurate pipetting and serial dilutions.
• Familiarity with microbiological culture handling, media preparation, or routine laboratory testing is preferred.
• Ability to follow written procedures and accurately complete detailed laboratory documentation.
• Basic computer skills and ability to learn laboratory information and business systems.
• Ability to work safely and reliably in a regulated laboratory environment.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, dependability, and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine bacteriology and immunology assays on manufacturing, environmental, and related laboratory samples according to approved procedures.
• Handle microbiological cultures using aseptic technique and contamination-control practices.
• Perform accurate pipetting and serial dilutions, sample preparation, and other routine laboratory techniques.
• Prepare media, reagents, and materials required for laboratory testing.
• Conduct media fill inspections and equipment monitoring activities as assigned.
• Follow testing schedules and monitor reagent and laboratory-material inventories.
• Complete laboratory records and documentation in accordance with cGMP requirements.
• Clean, maintain, and monitor laboratory equipment and work areas.
• Follow site quality standards, policies, and safety requirements.

Position Summary

Adecco Healthcare & Life Sciences is hiring for a Quality Control Technician, Bacteriology & Immunology to support routine laboratory testing within a regulated Quality Control environment.

This is a hands-on, technician-level laboratory role focused on bacteriology and immunology testing of manufacturing and environmental samples. The successful candidate will perform established laboratory procedures, maintain accurate documentation, follow aseptic technique and contamination-control practices, and work in accordance with cGMP, site quality standards, and safety requirements .

This position is well suited for someone with foundational laboratory experience who is comfortable following established procedures and interested in building experience within a regulated pharmaceutical or animal-health QC environment. Training will be provided on site-specific methods, systems, and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine bacteriology and immunology assays on manufacturing, environmental, and related laboratory samples according to approved procedures.

• Handle microbiological cultures and samples using appropriate aseptic technique and contamination-control practices .

• Perform accurate pipetting, serial dilutions, sample preparation , and other routine laboratory techniques.

• Prepare media, reagents, and other materials required for laboratory testing.

• Conduct media fill inspections and equipment monitoring activities as assigned.

• Follow established testing schedules and monitor reagent and laboratory-material inventories.

• Complete laboratory records, worksheets, and other documentation accurately and on time in accordance with cGMP requirements .

• Clean, maintain, and monitor laboratory equipment, instruments, work areas, and facilities according to site procedures.

• Follow site Quality Standards , policies, procedures, and applicable health and safety requirements.

• Provide factual information and basic support for routine laboratory investigations, escalating issues to qualified personnel as appropriate.

• Learn and use applicable laboratory and business systems, including zLIMS and SAP , following site training.

• Support other routine QC laboratory activities and assigned duties within the scope of the position.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Experience

• Previous laboratory experience in quality control, microbiology, bacteriology, immunology, pharmaceutical, animal health, food, or another regulated laboratory environment .

• Experience working under cGMP or other regulated documentation requirements .

• Familiarity with laboratory information management systems (LIMS).

• Experience performing microbiological testing or immunology-based assays .

• Experience with routine laboratory sample preparation, media preparation, or environmental monitoring.

Pay Details:

$20.00 to $21.00 per hour
