Qualifications

  • 2–5 years of experience in quality control within a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of FAI, PPAP, and ISO 9001:2015 standards.
  • Strong computer skills including Oracle experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect and approve incoming materials, in-process components, and finished products.
  • Conduct First Article Inspections (FAI) and perform Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) activities.
  • Support quality audits in line with ISO 9001:2015 standards.

Reporting to the Quality Engineering Manager, the Quality Control Technician is responsible for ensuring the integrity and compliance of incoming and outgoing materials and products within our manufacturing operations. Located on-site at our Wood Dale, IL facility, this role plays a key part in maintaining high standards of quality that meet internal, industry, and customer expectations.

In this role, a typical day will include:

  • Inspect and approve incoming materials, in-process components, and finished products.
  • Conduct First Article Inspections (FAI) and perform Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) activities.
  • Utilize a Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM), micrometers, and other tools to verify product conformity.
  • Document inspection results, manage inspection logs, and escalate issues to internal teams.
  • Support quality audits in line with ISO 9001:2015 standards.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Quality, Engineering, Procurement, and Manufacturing teams to address product and process concerns.

The essential requirements for the job include:

  • Associate degree in Quality or equivalent work experience; Technical degree preferred.
  • 2–5 years of experience in quality control within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in using CMM, micrometers, calipers, and interpreting technical blueprints.
  • Knowledge of FAI, PPAP, and ISO 9001:2015 standards.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; Oracle experience is a plus.
