What You’ll Do

The Quality Control Technician plays a crucial role in upholding Young Again’s standards for safe, high-quality pet food products. In this position, you will be responsible for implementing and maintaining our Quality Control (QC) guidelines, ensuring that all products meet internal and customer specifications. You’ll coordinate and document inspections, testing, and corrective actions across a variety of ingredients and finished goods. You’ll work hands-on with production staff, conduct lab testing, and serve as a key contributor to our food safety and regulatory compliance processes.

This is a full-time, in-person role based in Stacy, MN. Hours are Monday through Thursday from 6:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Enjoy a 3-day weekend.

Key Responsibilities

Product Testing & Inspection:

  • Ensure products from packaging lines meet required specifications, including density, color, moisture content, and weight.
  • Perform product testing in line with company and customer standards.
  • Verify accuracy of packaging, including UPC codes, co-dates, and label details.
  • Collect, label, and store final product samples; send to outside labs when required.
  • Analyze and collect raw ingredient samples; submit to labs if needed.
  • Investigate customer complaints and coordinate resolutions.
  • Notify the Plant Manager of non-conforming product, initiate holds, and await instructions.
  • Assist with maintaining detailed QC documentation, logs, and reporting.

Sanitation & Support:

  • Maintain cleanliness of QC areas.
  • Collaborate with employees to promote a safe and high-quality work environment.

Communication & Compliance:

  • Exercise clear, professional communication and sound judgment.
  • Follow established QC protocols and procedures.

Qualifications

  • Previous Quality Control experience is a plus, but not required. We will train the right person.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow standardized procedures.
  • Comfortable with hands-on work in a production/manufacturing setting.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Must work on-site in Stacy, MN.

Physical Demands:

  • Requires standing for long periods and mobility within the production and QC areas.
  • Occasional lifting and manual sampling required.
  • Basic use of a computer for documentation.
  • $18-$22 – dependent on experience and qualifications
