Job summary

Farwest is seeking a full-time onsite Quality Assurance Technician for epoxy-coated rebar production. You will monitor coating and fabrication processes, perform tests, and ensure compliance with CRSI and ASTM standards.

Responsibilities include maintaining records, guiding fellow team members, and coordinating with inspectors to uphold safety and quality. Requires a high school diploma and experience in QA and coating procedures.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Experience with reinforcing steel and coating procedures preferred.
  • Experience in quality control procedures and documentation required.
  • Able to work in a team and in a fast-paced environment.

About This Position:

Job Type: Full Time, Onsite
Schedule:Day, 6:00am to 4:30, Monday through Thursday
Wage: $19.10 to $28.00, depending on experience


Responsible for the quality of epoxy coated products from beginning of coating process through fabrication and to the point of shipment. Performs various tests on products, monitor and adjust processes assuring a superior level of compliance with CRSI and ASTM standards. Assure maximum efficiency of processes while following Company safety policies, and best practices in the epoxy coated rebar industry. Department lead, ensuring team members meet job performance standards.


Key Responsibilities


  1. Ensure customer satisfaction by monitoring the coating and production processes through performing, and recording various testing and observations. Provide technical directions to employees regarding adjustment of procedures and equipment settings. Ensure a safe work place and a team environment by promoting all Company safety policies, OSHA guidelines, and participating in Lean concepts.

  2. Maintain records, update spreadsheets, revise processes as manuals and standards are updated and document all activities.

  3. Troubleshoot problems regarding quality of coated products. Provide corrective recommendations or decisions and communicate to Branch Operations Manager.

  4. Work with outside sources such as state and industry inspectors and representatives.

  5. Direct or perform regular preventative maintenance to ensure maximum uptime of equipment and quality of coated products.


Qualifications:


  • High School Diploma or GED preferred

  • Previous experience with reinforcing steel and coating procedures preferred

  • Experience in quality control procedures and documentation required

  • Ability to work in a team environment with others in our company and treat our internal and external customers with courtesy and professionalism

  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment
