Job summary

Western Coating, Inc. is seeking a full-time Onsite Quality Control Technician in Ogden, UT. You will oversee epoxy-coated rebar processes from coating to shipment, running tests and ensuring compliance with CRSI and ASTM standards.

The role leads a team to maintain safety and quality while meeting production goals. The position offers a daytime schedule, with wage ranging from $19.10 to $28.00 per hour based on experience.

Qualifications

• High School/GED or equivalent required.
• Experience with reinforcing steel and coating procedures preferred.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.
• Proven record of documenting quality tests and observations.

Responsibilities

• Monitor coating and production processes; perform/tests observations and record results.
• Provide technical directions to team on procedures and equipment settings.
• Promote site safety policies and OSHA guidelines; participate in Lean initiatives.
• Maintain records and update spreadsheets; revise processes per standards.
• Troubleshoot coating quality issues and communicate corrective actions to leadership.
• Coordinate with inspectors and external representatives.
• Direct or perform preventative maintenance to maximize uptime.

About This Position

Job Type: Full Time, Onsite

Schedule: Day, 6:00am to 4:30, Monday through Thursday

Wage: $19.10 to $28.00, depending on experience

Responsible for the quality of epoxy coated products from beginning of coating process through fabrication and to the point of shipment. Performs various tests on products, monitor and adjust processes assuring a superior level of compliance with CRSI and ASTM standards. Assure maximum efficiency of processes while following Company safety policies, and best practices in the epoxy coated rebar industry. Department lead, ensuring team members meet job performance standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure customer satisfaction by monitoring the coating and production processes through performing, and recording various testing and observations.


• Provide technical directions to employees regarding adjustment of procedures and equipment settings.


• Ensure a safe work place and a team environment by promoting all Company safety policies, OSHA guidelines, and participating in Lean concepts.


• Maintain records, update spreadsheets, revise processes as manuals and standards are updated and document all activities.


• Troubleshoot problems regarding quality of coated products. Provide corrective recommendations or decisions and communicate to Branch Operations Manager.


• Work with outside sources such as state and industry inspectors and representatives.


• Direct or perform regular preventative maintenance to ensure maximum uptime of equipment and quality of coated products.

Minimum Education Required

High School/GED

Qualifications

• Previous Experience with reinforcing steel and coating procedures preferred


• High School Diploma or GED preferred


• Experience in quality control procedures and documentation required


• Ability to work in a team environment with others in our company and treat our internal and external customers with courtesy and professionalism


• Ability to work in a fast paced environment
