Job summary

DeSHAZO, LLC. is seeking a Quality Control Technician to ensure adherence to production quality standards across multiple Alabama facilities. The role involves materials inspection, in-process checks, and final product verification, with NCR submission and data logging requirements.

The ideal candidate has at least 2 years in industrial manufacturing, familiarity with metallurgical materials, and ability to read blueprints. Proficiency in MS Word/Excel and good communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in an Industrial Manufacturing environment preferred.
• Experience with metallurgical materials is required.
• Ability to read and understand machining and fabrication blueprints.
• Desirable experience with Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs).
• Working knowledge of applicable codes and standards (ASME B30, AWS, SSPC, NEC).
• Strong MS Word and MS Excel skills.
• Good oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

Shift: Days

Pay Range: $18.00 - $22.00/hr (BOE)

The Quality Control Technician will follow through on set processes and ensure adherence to best production practices and product quality standards. This position will be responsible for maintaining quality-assurance processes, testing products, and recording and analyzing results during product development and manufacturing. This position will support both the Bessemer and Alabaster DeSHAZO facilities.

JOB DUTIES:

• Approves incoming materials by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; rejecting and returning unacceptable materials.
• Approves in-process production by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; communicating required adjustments to production supervisor.
• Approves finished products by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; returning products for re-work; confirming re-work.
• Submittal and follow up of Non-Conformance Reports (NCR’s).
• Documents inspection results by completing reports and logs; summarizing re-work and waste; inputting data into quality database.
• Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications.
• Accomplishes quality and organization mission by completing related results as needed.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent
• Minimum of 2 years experience working within an Industrial Manufacturing environment preferred.
• Experience with metallurgical materials is required. (This is not a quality lab position)
• Visual acuity of 20/30 or better in one eye, natural or corrected
• Ability to read and understand machining and fabrication blueprints
• Ability to read and understand job specifications.
• Desired candidate will have experience with Non-Conformance Reports (NCR’s) or applicable knowledge.
• Working knowledge of applicable codes and standards (ASME B30, AWS, SSPC, NEC)
• Ability to work systematically and logically.
• Ability to follow through and complete assignments with minimal supervision
• Strong skills in Microsoft Word and Excel
• Good oral and written communication skills

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Tasks associated with this position are performed at multiple locations in non-controlled environments subject to heat, cold, dust, dirt, and loud noise.
• Hard hat, safety-toe shoes, hearing protection, and eye protection is required.
• This position requires standing and walking for extended periods of time on concrete floors, climbing, bending, and kneeling, and occasional lifting of heavy objects.
• Many tasks are repetitive with few breaks.
