Responsibilities
Specific responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Review production schedules to plan QC Lab Test work and testing requirements supporting Manufacturing and Engineering.
- Communicate changes to procedures and respond to customer complaints effectively.
- Implement product quality standards and process controls, including inspections and testing at various stages, sampling, and training procedures.
- Develop Test Procedures and Work Instructions.
- Review and audit production processes for conformance to quality standards, product specifications, and standards.
- Select products for testing at specified production stages, assessing qualities like dimensions and performance.
- Perform tests to ensure products meet specifications.
- Collaborate with management or engineering staff to determine quality and reliability standards.
- Record test data, apply statistical quality control procedures, and analyze data.
- Write reports indicating deviations from standards and prepare data visualizations.
- Calibrate equipment, prepare samples, validate production data, and manage sample storage.
- Assist in writing procedures and developing/training QC Technicians.
- Conduct testing, generate reports, and manage the Certificate of Analysis process for customers.
- Participate in projects related to customer complaints, investigations, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required Education & Skillsets:
- At least 3 years of manufacturing experience with responsibility for testing parts or goods to defined requirements.
- Valid driver’s license in good standing.
- Proficiency in computer use, including manufacturing software, email, and internet.
- Strong skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Ability to follow documented procedures, maintain accurate records, and perform in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective communication skills and ability to perform multi-tasks.
- Availability to work 12-hour shifts including overtime.
- Ability to interpret safety rules, manuals, and write reports.
- Mathematical skills including measurements, percentages, and calculations.
- Ability to read measurements, travel between facilities, and maintain a good driving record.
Preferred Education & Skillsets:
- High School Diploma or GED with some secondary education.
- 1-3 years of experience in Quality Control within manufacturing.
Physical Demands
- Lift at least 50 pounds and push/pull objects up to 250 pounds.
- Work 8-12 hour shifts, perform repetitive tasks, and stand, sit, hear, walk, and talk routinely.
- Reach, climb, bend, kneel, crouch, twist, and balance, sometimes in tight spaces.
- Meet certification requirements to operate Power Industrial Trucks.
