Description
ResponsibilitiesSpecific responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Review production schedules to plan QC Lab Test work and testing requirements supporting Manufacturing and Engineering
- Communicate changes to procedures and respond to customer complaints effectively
- Implement product quality standards and process controls, including In-Process, Final, and Stage II inspections and tests, sampling, and training procedures
- Develop Test Procedures and Work Instructions
- Review and audit production processes for conformance to quality standards, set up sheets, and product specifications
- Select products for testing at specified production stages; test for qualities like dimensions, performance, and visual characteristics
- Perform tests to ensure products meet specifications
- Consult with management or engineering to determine quality and reliability standards
- Record test data and apply statistical quality control procedures
- Analyze data and prepare reports on deviations from standards
- Create graphs or charts and enter data into systems for analysis
- Calibrate equipment, prepare samples, validate data, and manage sample storage
- Assist in writing procedures and developing training programs for QC Technicians
- Conduct testing and generate reports through the Certificate of Analysis process for customers
- Support projects related to customer complaints and continuous improvement efforts
- Perform other duties as assigned
QualificationsRequired Education & Skillsets:- At least 3 years of manufacturing experience testing parts or goods to defined requirements
- Valid driver's license in good standing
- Proficiency with computers, including manufacturing software, email, and internet
- Skilled in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Ability to follow documented procedures and maintain accurate records
- Excellent time-management skills; capable of multitasking in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to understand and follow instructions using common sense
- Willingness to work 12-hour shifts, including overtime
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, manuals, and procedures
- Capable of writing reports, maintaining records, and managing logs
- Mathematical skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and understanding measurements in fractions and decimals
- Ability to calculate figures such as percentages, areas, and volumes
- Ability to read rulers and understand measurements
- Willingness to travel between facilities or to customers and maintain a good driving record
- Effective communication skills with colleagues and supervisors
Preferred Education & Skillsets:- High School Diploma or GED with some secondary education
- 1 to 3 years of experience in Quality Control within a manufacturing environment
Physical Demands: The employee must:
- Lift at least 50 pounds
- Push or pull objects up to 250 pounds
- Work 8-12 hour shifts
- Perform repetitive tasks
- Regularly stand, sit, hear, walk, and talk
- Reach, climb, bend, kneel, crouch, twist, and balance, sometimes in tight spaces
- Have good close vision, depth perception, and focus ability
