Job description

Responsibilities

Specific responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  1. Review production schedules in order to plan for QC Lab Test work and testing requirements needed to support Manufacturing and Engineering.
  2. Effectively communicate changes to procedures and/or intern reaction to customer complaints.
  3. Implement product quality standards and process controls, including In-Process, Final and Stage II inspection and test, sampling and training procedures.
  4. Assist in developing Test Procedures and Work Instructions.
  5. Review and audit production process for conformance to quality standards, set up sheets and product specifications and standards.
  6. Select products for tests at specified stages in production process: test products for variety of qualities such as dimensions, performance and other visual characteristics.
  7. Perform tests to ensure products meet specifications.
  8. Confer with management or engineering staff to determine quality and reliability standards.
  9. Record test data, applying statistical quality control procedures.
  10. Evaluate data and write reports to verify or indicate deviations from existing standards.
  11. Prepare graphs or charts of data or enters data into computer for analysis.
  12. Calibrate equipment, prepare samples and validate production data, retain sample storage.
  13. Assist in writing procedures as necessary.
  14. Assist in development and implementation of QC Technician training programs, provide training.
  15. Conduct testing and generate reports through the Certificate of Analysis process to customers.
  16. Assist in projects relative to Customer complaints/investigations and continuous improvement.
  17. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required Education & Skillsets:
  1. 3 years manufacturing experience with responsibility for testing parts or goods to defined requirements.
  2. Driver’s license in good standing.
  3. Ability to use a computer; (e.g. manufacturing software, e-mail, Internet).
  4. Proficiency in Microsoft EXCEL, WORD, and Outlook.
  5. Ability to follow documented procedures and standards and keep accurate records.
  6. Excellent time-management skills; ability to perform multi-tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  7. Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions.
  8. Ability to work 12-hour shifts including over-time to meet business needs.
  9. Ability to read and interpret documents (e.g. safety rules, operating or procedure manuals).
  10. Ability to write reports and correspondence, maintain records, inventories or other logs.
  11. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  12. Ability to calculate figures and amounts; percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  13. Ability to read a ruler and understand measurements in fractions and decimals.
  14. Ability to travel between facilities or to customers; maintain a good driving record.
  15. Ability to communicate effectively with workers, contractors, supervisors and leaders.
Preferred Education & Skillsets:
  1. High School Diploma or GED with some secondary education.
  2. 1 to 3 years of experience in Quality Control function in manufacturing environment.
Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job the employee must:

  1. Be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
  2. Be able to push or pull heavy objects up to 250 pounds.
  3. Be able to work 8 - 12 hours shifts.
  4. Perform repetitive tasks.
  5. Routinely stand, sit, hear, walk, and talk.
  6. Reach, climb, bend, kneel, crouch, twist and balance; sometimes in awkward or tight spaces.
  7. Have good close vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.
  8. Meet Mativ certification requirements to operate Power Industrial Trucks.
