Position Summary: MGM Products is looking for a dependable, detail-oriented Quality Control Technician who wants to build a long-term career in Quality.

This is a hands-on manufacturing Quality position. You will spend a significant portion of your day on the production floor inspecting fabricated products and assemblies, reviewing drawings and specifications, using measurement tools, documenting results, and working directly with Production to resolve quality concerns.

We are not looking for someone who simply finds defects. We want someone who is curious, takes ownership, asks questions, follows requirements, and wants to understand why problems happen and how to prevent them from happening again.

The Quality Control Technician reports directly to the Quality Manager and will play an important role in supporting our ISO 9001 Quality Management System and maintaining consistent product quality for our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform incoming, in-process, first-article, and final inspections of fabricated products and assemblies.
  • Review drawings, specifications, work instructions, and inspection requirements before making quality decisions.
  • Verify product dimensions, workmanship, appearance, and overall conformity to requirements.
  • Use measurement tools such as tape measures, squares, calipers, gauges, and other inspection equipment as required.
  • Document inspection results accurately and maintain complete, organized, and traceable quality records.
  • Identify, document, and control nonconforming product.
  • Support investigations into defects and nonconformances.
  • Assist with root cause analysis, corrective actions, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Work directly with Production to identify quality concerns early and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Use drawings, specifications, inspection criteria, and objective evidence to make sound quality decisions.
  • Follow established ISO 9001 procedures and Quality Management System requirements.
  • Support internal audits, customer audits, and third-party audit readiness.
  • Assist with calibration, inspection records, quality documentation, and other QMS activities as needed.
  • Learn and use quality management software for inspections, nonconformances, corrective actions, and recordkeeping.
  • Maintain professionalism and represent the Quality department with integrity in all interactions.
  • Conduct thorough inspections of products and assemblies to verify compliance with specifications and quality standards.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of quality control processes and support improvements within assigned areas.
What We're Looking For

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Detail-oriented and naturally notices inconsistencies or defects.
  • Dependable and able to work with limited supervision after training.
  • Comfortable working in a hands-on manufacturing environment.
  • Technically minded and willing to learn how products are designed and manufactured.
  • Able to follow detailed instructions, drawings, specifications, and established processes.
  • Organized and capable of maintaining accurate and reliable documentation.
  • Comfortable asking questions when requirements are unclear.
  • Able to communicate quality concerns clearly and professionally with operators, supervisors, and management.
  • Willing to make the right quality decision even when it may be inconvenient.
  • Interested in understanding the cause of problems rather than simply identifying the defect.
  • Proactive, curious, and interested in continuous improvement.
  • Looking for an opportunity to grow and develop a long-term career in Quality.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1–3 years of experience in manufacturing, inspection, quality control, or a related environment preferred.
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Experience

Experience in any of the following is a plus:

  • Manufacturing Quality Control
  • Sheet metal or fabricated product inspection
  • Reading mechanical or fabrication drawings
  • Understanding dimensions and tolerances
  • Tape measures, squares, calipers, micrometers, gauges, or similar inspection tools
  • First-article or in-process inspection
  • Nonconformance documentation
  • Root cause analysis or corrective action
  • ISO 9001 or another formal Quality Management System
  • Internal auditing
  • Quality management or ERP software

Prior experience with our specific products or software is not required. We are willing to train the right person who demonstrates strong attention to detail, technical aptitude, integrity, and a desire to grow in Quality.

How We Approach Quality

We work to identify issues early, verify requirements, understand the cause of problems, and improve our processes so we can deliver consistent and predictable results to our customers.

Our Quality Management System continues to grow, and this position offers the opportunity to develop beyond inspection into areas such as facility‑level Quality leadership.

  • If you take pride in doing things correctly, enjoy solving problems, and want to develop into a well-rounded Quality professional, we'd like to meet you.
