Job summary

Job description

POSITION SUMMARY

The position is responsible for ensuring that all products manufactured meet or exceed quality standards as well as all safety, environmental and ISO requirements. The role implements continuous improvement initiatives in the manufacturing and QC environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • QC Lab and Process Management (80%) – Knowledge of work instructions, procedures, and calibration of QC instrumentation referenced in the LATICRETE Quality Control Manual; ensure all lab testing results are filed and entered into the computer database (JDE); obtain QC testing samples according to the Quality Requirements testing level; maintain a storage system for retained samples; monitor the execution of Good Laboratory Practices; enter test results into the QC tracking system and cross‑check records; assist in 5S training; order supplies for the QC lab; update the QC data‑up system daily; communicate with production personnel to support efficient production flow; ensure all QC instruments meet calibration requirements; identify improved methods of QC analysis and/or new QC lab equipment to improve lab efficiencies; maintain ISO 9001 traceability of CoA’s, MSDS, Calibration/Verification; complete and distribute all forms per the Q.C. Manual; write daily reports of all QC testing performed; support root‑cause analysis of non‑conforming product; test and report on all Field Test complaints filed by technical services; provide improvements for QC lab workflow, testing, and other QC related activities; compare all CoA’s against the Master CoA to determine acceptance or rejection and enter all pertinent data into the computer system.
  • Data Collection and Data Analysis (20%) – Demonstrate problem‑solving abilities; communicate solutions to superiors in a timely and efficient manner; use Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and Outlook to present technical data to QC team, business leaders and others.
  • Team Cooperation – QC Ways Of Working (Daily) – Prioritize and allocate work, delegate tasks to lab personnel; build team culture by holding lab personnel accountable; manage escalation of conflicts; foster open environment for constructive feedback; communicate regular business updates and listen to opinions of peers, lab personnel, and internal customers.
REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
  • Education and Experience: Associate’s degree in science or engineering or 3–5 years of QC laboratory experience.
  • Computer Skills: Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and Outlook; ability to present technical data to QC team, business leaders and others.
  • Excellent organization, verbal, written and math skills; strong analytical and problem‑solving skills; organized and meticulous.
  • Technical knowledge in cementitious chemistry, epoxy liquids, latex, and/or any LATICRETE product lines.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide improvements for QC lab workflow, testing and related activities; evidence of projects led.
  • Travel Requirement: Must be able to travel 0–5%.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Must lift and/or carry a minimum of 50 pounds.
  • Must push/pull 50 pounds.
  • Stand for 75% of the day.
  • Sit for 25% of the day.
  • Twist/bend 25% of the day.
  • Squat/climb/crawl 25% of the day.
