Job summary

American Axle & Manufacturing, Inc. in Gallatin, TN, is seeking a Quality Control Supervisor to lead the Quality Control Lab, ensure safety, maintain records, and meet production quality objectives.

This role requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent and 2+ years of QC experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintain adherence to safety standards.
• Supervise Laboratory Technicians and ensure policy compliance.
• Maintain accurate timekeeping for direct reports.
• Supervise Laboratory Technicians to meet/exceed customer expectations, conduct correct standardized test methods, and promote continuous improvement as a culture.
• Coordinate with internal departments, other testing facilities, suppliers, etc.
• Ensure the Quality Control Lab meets production objectives while maintaining quality.
• Schedule and coordinate daily lab testing requirements and maintain records of outputs.
• Coordinate internal calibration/verification activities and ensure records are maintained.
• Control departmental spending, consumables inventory, and limit equipment downtime via preventative maintenance.
• All other duties as assigned.

Job Description Summary

Dauch is searching for a Quality Control Supervisor to join our team. This position will be based out of our Gallatin, TN location.

The Quality Control Supervisor is responsible for the daily and short-term safe operations and management of the Quality Control Lab.

Job Description:

• Maintain adherence to company safety standards.

• Supervise Laboratory Technicians and ensure compliance with company handbook policies.

• Maintain accurate timekeeping for direct reports.

• Supervise Laboratory Technicians to meet/exceed customer expectations, conduct correct standardized test methods, and promote continuous improvement as a culture (including events, team meetings and other activities).

• Coordinate with interested parties (internal departments, other testing facilities, suppliers, etc.) supported by the Quality Control Lab's activities.

• Ensure the Quality Control Lab is meeting the objectives of production while maintaining good quality.

• Schedule and coordinate daily lab testing requirements and maintain complete and accurate records of outputs from the Quality Control Lab.

• Coordinate internal calibration/verification activities and ensure records are adequately maintained.

• Ensure efficient and continuous operations of Quality Control Lab through proper control of departmental spending, consumables inventory, and limit equipment downtime utilizing a preventative/predictive maintenance approach.

• All other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Education

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent relevant experience.

• 2+ years Quality Control experience.

• Progressive leadership experience in a manufacturing setting.
