Job description

Job Title: Quality Control/Specialist I

Responsibilities
  • Inspect raw materials, in-process goods, and finished products at different stages.
  • Conduct routine analyses and tests of various components.
  • Follow established procedures and guidelines to check, test, and inspect items; compare physical characteristics to technical specifications to identify defects.
  • Perform simple tests, record results, and prepare basic technical reports.
  • Carry out visual and measurement inspection tests including calculation of distances, angles, radii, tapers, thread, and gear data using complex measuring equipment such as Zeiss or Mitutoyo Coordinate Measuring Machines, Smartscope, or RAM.
  • Utilize precision measuring equipment (micrometers, calipers, comparators, master gauge blocks, indicators, surface gauges, surface plates, sine bars, etc.) to accept or reject parts so that products sent to customers meet expectations and quality standards.
  • Approve finished products by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, returning products for rework, confirming rework, and communicating required adjustments to appropriate personnel to ensure quality release.
  • Read and decipher complex technical drawings and incorporate tight tolerances into the inspection process.
  • Input and analyze statistical data using Infinity or other SPC software, document data, and examine statistics to determine and maintain product reliability.
  • Operate inspection equipment; troubleshoot and resolve issues affecting product quality; report issues to leadership as needed.
  • Act as the go-to person for quality control inspection procedures, train other employees, and ensure consistent implementation of inspection methods.
  • Conduct training classes related to inspection tools/equipment, processes, GD&T, and technical drawings.
  • Perform analytical tests using instrumentation/equipment and conduct measurement calculations as needed.
  • Direct other department inspectors at the request of a team lead or supervisor in their absence.
  • Perform internal audits in accordance with company and customer quality control standards.
  • Assist in or perform tasks in any assigned area as needed.
  • Work any shifts or days as required.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 1‑3 years of applicable product inspection experience.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills with great attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in geometric dimensioning and tolerancing and intermediate math skills.
  • Strong problem‑solving, judgment, and decision‑making skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with a diverse group of people from different cultures and backgrounds.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word).
  • Qualified status on the use of multiple precision inspection equipment tools such as micrometers, calipers, microscopes, gauges, video scopes, and lighting equipment.
  • Detail‑oriented tasks using basic language and intermediate math skills.
Compensation

Target Hiring Range: Hourly USD 16.13 – USD 19.53 (actual compensation is commensurate with experience, skills, and education).
