Job summary

CoorsTek is seeking a Quality Control/Specialist II for the Weekend Shift (Fri-Sun, 6a-6p) to perform precision inspections and data analysis. You will read complex drawings, apply tight tolerances, and ensure parts meet quality standards.

Training others, leading audits, and collaborating with teams are key aspects of this role. The position requires 2–4 years of inspection experience, a high school diploma, and strong attention to detail.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required with strong math skills.
  • Experience in precision inspection and reading complex drawings.
  • Familiar with GD&T and proof of part conformity.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and data entry into SPC tools.

Responsibilities

  • Perform visual and measurement inspections using CMMs and handheld tools.
  • Read complex drawings and apply tight tolerances to parts.
  • Input and analyze data in SPC software (Infinity or equivalent).
  • Train other employees in inspection tools, processes, and GD&T.
  • Lead internal audits and coordinate with leadership on quality issues.
  • Support multiple shifts and ensure on-time release of quality parts.

Quality Control/Specialist II - Days (Weekend Shift Fr/Sat/Sun- 6a-6p)

Roles & Responsibilities

Under minimal supervision, performs visual and measurement inspection tests including calculating distances, angles, radius tapers, thread and gear data using complex measuring equipment (i.e. Zeiss or Mitutoyo Coordinate Measuring Machines, Smartscope or RAM). Utilizes precision measuring equipment (i.e. micrometers, calipers, comparators, master gauge blocks, indicators, surface gauges, surface plates, sine bars, etc.) to accept or reject parts so that product sent to customers meets expectations and quality standards. Approves finished products by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, returning products for re-work, confirming re-work, communicating required adjustments to appropriate personnel and ensuring quality product is released to customer. Reads and deciphers complex technical drawings and incorporates tight tolerances into part inspection process. Inputs and analyzes statistical data utilizing Infinity or other SPC software, documents data obtained during all quality inspection processes and examines statistical data to determine and maintain quality and product reliability. If applicable, operates inspection equipment; troubleshoots and resolves issues affecting quality of product and reports issues to leadership as needed. Acts as "go-to" person for quality control inspection procedures, willingly accepts responsibility for training other employees as required and ensures inspection methods are consistent and performed in adherence to quality standards and processes. Conducts training classes relating to inspection tools/equipment, processes, GD&T and technical drawings. Performs analytical test using instrumentation/equipment and perform measurement calculations as needed. Directs other department inspectors at request of team lead or supervisor in leader’s absence. Performs internal audits in accordance with Company and customer quality control standards. Assists and/or performs in any and all areas as assigned. Works any and all shifts/days as required.

Job Requirements

Shift: Weekend Shift Days: Friday, Saturday, Sunday, 6:00am - 6:00pm 12 hour shifts. Education: High School Diploma/GED. Experience: 2-4 years of applicable product inspection experience. Functional/Technical Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Exhibits strong interpersonal and organizational skills with great attention to detail. Possesses excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Demonstrates proficiency in geometric dimensioning and tolerancing and possesses intermediate math skills. Exhibits strong problem solving, judgement and decision-making skills. Works effectively with a diverse group of people from different cultures and backgrounds. Proficient at Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word). Has attained qualified status on the use of multiple precision inspection equipment tools in assigned area under limited supervisor, such as micrometers, calipers, microscope, federal gauge, Styre, Talyrond 73, FPI, video scopes, and lighting equipment. Performs detail oriented tasks using basic language and proficient math skills.

Target Hiring Range Hourly

USD 20.57 - USD 27.16. Actual compensation is commensurate with experience, skills and education.
