Job summary

Value Windows & Doors is seeking a Quality Control Specialist to inspect windows and doors across Moreno Valley, Duarte, and other locations. You will verify parts, unit functionality, and adherence to quality standards, while maintaining detailed inspection records and reporting findings to management.

The role requires reading CAD drawings, tracking issues through resolution, and supporting corrective actions.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree preferred; high school diploma or equivalent required.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, problem-solving, organizational, and multi-project management skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and Excel; ability to use Claude or similar AI tools for data analysis and reporting.
• Fluent spoken and written Chinese and English with the ability to translate technical content accurately.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate, traceable quality records.

Responsibilities

About The Role

The Quality Control Specialist is responsible for inspecting and verifying the quality of windows and doors across Value Windows & Doors facilities, including Moreno Valley, Duarte, and other locations as needed. The role ensures products are built with the correct components, function as intended, and meet established quality standards for appearance, workmanship, and performance. Responsibilities include maintaining accurate inspection records, documenting findings, tracking quality issues through corrective action and closure, and reporting results to management.

What You’ll Do

• Perform quality checks of windows and doors based on the instructed quality standards and keep complete and accurate inspection records.
• Verify that the correct parts are used, that units function properly, and that units pass the applicable standards for water performance and appearance.
• Read and interpret CAD drawings to understand product design and dimensions and verify finished units against the drawings.
• Track each quality issue throughout its lifecycle, including records of all revision and repair actions taken, until the issue is closed.
• Create quality reports for the management group, summarizing inspection results, quality issues, trends, and actions taken.
• Write clear technical records and reports of quality issues, including descriptions, photos, measurements, root cause, and corrective actions.
• Take photos and record any ambiguous cases where the current quality standard is unclear or does not clearly apply and submit them to the Quality Manager as a reference for setting up or refining quality standards.
• Travel to the warehouse and/or job sites as needed to inspect units and identify the source of reported quality issues.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of existing and new products, including their performance and the related quality standard at each process.
• Participate in the performance testing of windows and doors to learn the key points in the assembly process that secure the desired test performance and apply this knowledge to strengthen quality control skills and inspection effectiveness.

Training & Education:

• Associate Degree preferred, high school diploma or equivalent required; technical coursework or certification in quality control a plus.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, problem-solving, organizational, and multi-project management skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and Excel; ability to use Claude or similar AI tools for data analysis, reporting, template/document development, translation, drafting, and validation of AI-generated output.
• Fluent spoken and written Chinese and English with the ability to translate technical content accurately.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate, traceable quality records.

Physical Requirements

• Window and door product knowledge; ability to read basic drawings; basic AAMA/NFRC knowledge.
• Experience with Salesforce, A+W Cantor, or ERP systems preferred.
• Training in quality management, document control, regulatory compliance, or Lean Manufacturing preferred.
• Window and door or construction industry experience a plus.
