Job summary

The Synergy Company is seeking a Quality Control Specialist to join our Moab, Utah quality team. This hands-on role supports quality systems, investigations, regulatory activities, production, and laboratory operations to ensure our products meet high internal and industry standards.

You will perform internal audits, document findings, and help maintain CAPA/deviation programs while coordinating with lab personnel and production teams in a 40-hour onsite schedule.

Qualifications

  • Experience with food production processes and systems is a plus
  • Familiarity with cGMP, HARPC, FSMA, Kosher, and Certified Organic guidelines is preferred

Responsibilities

We are looking for a Quality Control Specialist to join our Quality team in Moab, Utah. This is a hands-on role for someone who combines strong attention to detail with curiosity, critical thinking, and a commitment to doing things the right way.

You’ll support quality systems, investigations, regulatory activities, production, and laboratory operations to help ensure our products and processes continue to meet high internal and industry standards.

About the role

This position goes beyond routine inspection. You’ll help investigate quality issues, support internal audits, maintain key quality programs, work with laboratory testing and data, and collaborate with teams across the company.

It’s a strong fit for someone who enjoys solving problems, working with technical information, and helping turn findings into meaningful quality improvements.

What you’ll do
  • Perform internal audits alongside the Quality Manager, including regular inspections throughout production areas
  • Document audit findings and communicate quality concerns to leadership
  • Help maintain the Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) and deviation programs, including tracking findings, investigations, follow-up, and closure
  • Investigate temperature and humidity readings, customer returns, product defects, and nonconforming materials
  • Support quality activities for wholesale customers and Synergized ingredients, including questionnaires, regulatory documentation, and B2B quality support
  • Help create and maintain finished-goods stability studies and investigate related data
  • Coordinate with internal and external laboratory personnel
  • Regularly perform or assist with laboratory testing, including titrations, HPLC, FTIR, microscopic analysis, moisture, density, tablet hardness, and microbiology
  • Prepare and send samples to third-party laboratories
  • Support the development of new laboratory methods and equipment
  • Participate in continuous quality improvement efforts

What we’re looking for

Required qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, listen, and comprehend English well enough to safely and effectively perform the role
  • Must be able to pass a background check

Preferred qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a scientific field
  • Experience or familiarity with food production processes and systems
  • Knowledge of dietary supplement quality and regulatory requirements, including cGMP, HARPC, FSMA, Kosher, and Certified Organic guidelines
  • Familiarity with calibrated inspection tools and equipment

Compensation

Pay range: $28.00–$38.00 per hour*

*The posted pay range represents the full compensation range for this position. New hires are typically brought in toward the lower portion of the range, depending on experience, qualifications, and internal equity. Actual starting pay will be based on relevant skills, experience, and alignment with the role.

Schedule and location

This is a full-time, onsite position based in Moab, Utah, working 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday.

Because the role involves regular laboratory work, production-floor audits, investigations, and collaboration with other departments, employees in this position will work in person at our Moab facilities.

Physical requirements

This role involves regular standing and walking throughout production, warehouse, and laboratory areas. Work in GMP-controlled areas requires appropriate PPE, which may include gloves, hairnets, masks, and other protective equipment.

The position may also involve kneeling, bending, moving materials, standing at laboratory benches, and lifting up to 35 pounds.
