Nan Mckay & Associates in El Cajon, CA is seeking a Quality Control Specialist to perform quality control reviews of Housing Choice Voucher program files to ensure HUD and PHCD compliance. This is a full-time clerical position in EL CAJON, CA.

The role reports to a Supervisor and requires attention to detail and knowledge of PHCD Administrative Plan. Strong communication and computer skills are essential to succeed.

Qualifications

  • Two years of progressively responsible work experience for a public agency, or related social service field preferred.
  • Ability to interpret and apply HUD regulations to the program.
  • Effective oral and written communication and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Strong computer and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts monthly review of tenant files to ensure HUD and PHCD policy compliance.
  • Performs annual SEMAP reviews of files.
  • Assists in training new employees on the Housing Choice Voucher program.
  • Uses QC knowledge sources (NMAWiki, PHCD Administrative Plan) to cite errors and comments accurately.
  • Creates weekly reports and delivers them to the QC Supervisor on time.
  • Responds to disputes regarding errors cited by housing specialists.
  • Performs other file audits and duties as assigned.

SUMMARY

SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED

Operates under the direct general supervision of a Supervisor; the Quality Control Specialist exercises no supervision over other employees.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

High School Diploma; Education equivalent to a two-year degree from a regionally accredited institution in Public Administration, Social Science or a closely related field; a minimum of two years of progressively responsible work experience for a public agency, or related work in the social service or community service field preferred. Alternatively, a two-year degree with four years of experience will satisfy the qualifications.
Must have the ability to interpret and apply regulations pertaining to the program. Must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing and have excellent interpersonal skills and possess strong computer and organizational skills.
