Job summary

PolyPeptide Laboratories B.V. in San Diego, CA is seeking a Quality Control Technical Shift Lead to oversee daily QC testing, guide analysts, and ensure analytical activities are compliant with GMP and regulatory expectations.

You will coordinate workloads, review data, troubleshoot methods, and collaborate with QA, Manufacturing, and cross-functional teams to support timely product release and continuous laboratory improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biochemistry, or a related life sciences field.
• 4+ years of GMP-regulated Quality Control laboratory experience.
• At least 1 year of leadership, senior analyst, technical lead, or team lead experience.
• Experience with peptide products is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily QC testing activities, scheduling, planning, and project priorities.
• Assign workload to analysts based on staffing levels and testing needs.
• Monitor sample turnaround times to support timely material and product release.
• Provide input on capacity constraints affecting schedule adherence.
• Serve as a technical resource for QC analysts and guidance on testing and practices.
• Execute complex analytical testing and operate instruments for material to finished product testing.
• Support compliance with USP, EP, ICH, cGMP, SOPs, regulatory submissions, and data integrity.
