About This Role:
Dayton-Granger, Inc. is seeking a Receiving Inspector to join our Quality team in Fort Lauderdale, FL. In this role, you’ll be responsible for checking incoming parts and materials to ensure they meet required standards. You’ll review supplier paperwork, inspect items using hand tools, and help keep our production team running smoothly. If you have experience in receiving or inspection within a manufacturing environment and enjoy working with both people and processes, this could be a great long-term fit. Prior aerospace experience is helpful, but not required.
Inspect incoming parts, materials, and hardware for accuracy and quality
Review supplier documentation (packing slips, certifications, test reports) for completeness and compliance
Compare parts against blueprints, drawings, and specifications
Use calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and other tools to verify dimensions
Ensure proper documentation and traceability of materials received
Record inspection results clearly and accurately in internal systems
Collaborate with Purchasing, Engineering, and Production teams to resolve discrepancies
Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area
Support other team needs as assigned
Follow all company safety policies and procedures
Requirements:
High school diploma or GED
2–3 years of experience in receiving, inspection, or a related manufacturing role
Experience using measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges
Able to read and understand packing slips, basic blueprints, and specifications
Detail-oriented with good record-keeping and organizational habits
Basic computer skills (Excel, Outlook, PDFs); ERP experience is a plus
Effective communication skills and a team-focused attitude
Physically able to lift up to 25 lbs and perform visual tasks (color, depth, clarity)
Must speak, read, and understand English
Preferred (Nice to Haves):
Prior experience in aerospace or regulated manufacturing
Familiarity with AS9100 or ISO9001 quality standards
Experience using ERP systems like Oracle or Infor
