Job summary

Broadridge Financial Solutions, a fully remote role, seeks a meticulous Proofreader to join our Quality Control team. You will verify documents for SEC filing readiness, compare originals to converted files, and ensure spelling, grammar, style, and alignment across PDFs and HTML.

Hours are 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM Arizona Time, with one weekend day. Requirements include a Bachelor’s in English or related field and 2–4 years of proofreading and typesetting experience, plus familiarity with SEC

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in English, journalism, communications, or related discipline.
  • 2–4 years of professional proofreading experience; financial printing or regulated communications preferred.
  • 2–4 years of typesetting, publishing, document production, or quality-control experience.
  • Excellent written English: spelling, grammar, punctuation, style.
  • Exceptional attention to detail; detect discrepancies in text, layout, pagination, graphics, data.
  • Ability to maintain focus while reviewing complex financial, technical content.
  • Strong MS Office skills; ability to review PDFs and HTML files; familiarity with Adobe.
  • Familiarity with SEC filing requirements or regulated-document workflows.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication; build positive internal/external relationships.
  • Ability to work flexible and extended hours during peak periods.

Responsibilities

  • Perform full quality checks on financial documents at creation and after client changes.
  • Compare converted documents to originals to ensure text matches.
  • Proofread and verify spelling, grammar, style, and alignment throughout.
  • Ensure logos are correct and of high quality.
  • Mark changes on printed PDFs and resolve routine issues using guidelines.
  • Elevate exceptions when needed and manage workload in a team setting.

Job description

We are seeking a Proofreader to join our dynamic Quality Control team. In this role, you will collaborate with our client-facing and Composition teams to check the accuracy of all documents received for conversion and revision. You will use your strong attention to detail to mark any errors that need to be corrected. Are you looking to join a dynamic and growing team? The work hours are 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM Arizona Time, and will include one weekend day.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform a full quality check on various types of financial documents at the time of creation, as well as after various changes from the client, before they are filed with the SEC (Securities and Exchange Commission) and/or printed
  • Compare converted documents to the original documents received from the client, ensuring that the text matches
  • Proofread and verify that spelling, grammar, style, and alignment are correct and consistent throughout (including job numbers, page numbers, headings, etc.)
  • Make sure all logos are correct and of the highest quality
  • Mark identified changes directly on the printed PDF proof
  • Identify and resolve routine issues using established guidelines and elevate exceptions appropriately
  • Manage an individual workload effectively and contribute constructively to a collaborative team environment
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in English, journalism, communications, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience
  • 2-4 years of professional proofreading experience; experience in financial printing, regulated communications, or financial-document production is strongly preferred
  • 2-4 years of typesetting, publishing, document production, or quality-control experience; reviewing documents with tracked changes and comparing source files against converted or final-output files
  • Demonstrated proficiency in written English including spelling, grammar, punctuation, and style consistency
  • Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to identify discrepancies in text, formatting, layout, pagination, graphics, and data
  • Ability to maintain focus and accuracy while reviewing complex financial, technical, and mathematical content
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and the ability to review PDF and HTML files; familiarity with Adobe
  • Familiarity with Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) filing requirements or other regulated-document workflows
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments, prioritize work effectively, and meet short turnaround times in a fast-paced production environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills to build positive working relationships with co-workers and internal clients
  • Ability to work flexible and extended hours during peak seasonal periods

Hourly compensation range $22.00 - $26.00. Bonus Eligible. Broadridge considers various factors when evaluating a candidate's final salary including, but not limited to, relevant experience, skills, and education.
