Southern Contracting, LLC is seeking a Quality Control Manager for Newbern, TN to oversee project-specific QC programs on federal heavy civil projects. The role requires relocation to project sites for 6–18 months, with travel premiums and a year-end bonus.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in heavy civil construction quality control (10+ years preferred).
• Valid USACE CQCM certificate is required.
• OSHA 30 and EM385 certifications required.
• Familiarity with USACE/NAVFAC specifications and federal construction.
• Willingness to relocate to project sites for 6-18 months.

Responsibilities

• Implement and manage the project-specific Quality Control Program per USACE/NAVFAC requirements.
• Conduct and document three-phase inspections (Preparatory, Initial, Follow-Up).
• Manage submittals, daily reporting, and quality documentation for federal compliance.
• Coordinate with project managers, subcontractors, and government representatives to resolve quality issues.
• Ensure all work complies with specifications, drawings, safety standards and codes.
• Monitor EM385 and OSHA 30 safety standards on the project.
• Lead quality meetings, testing coordination, and corrective action verification.
• Provide timely problem-solving and support to field leadership.

• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage documentation under strict deadlines.
• Must be able to pass State & Federal professional reviews for access to military bases and federal facilities.
• Willingness to relocate to project sites for durations of 6-18 months at a time.
