Job summary

VulcanForms in Massachusetts, USA, is seeking a Manager, Quality Control to own inspection workflows, metrology standards, and personnel development in a 24/7 manufacturing environment. You will manage the lab's resources to support aggressive production ramps and provide data-driven visibility into quality and performance.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in Quality Control or Metrology in high-precision manufacturing.
• 3+ years of formal management experience (M2 or Lead) managing multi-shift teams.
• Mastery of GD&T and advanced metrology equipment (CMM, GOM/Blue Light, NDT).
• Experience with budgeting and staffing to forecast resource needs.
• Understanding ISO 9001 or AS9100 requirements in lab settings.

Responsibilities

• Own daily operations and long-term scheduling for the QC team, including throughput, staffing, and costs.
• Act as primary technical advisor for measurement strategy, downtime, and bottlenecks.
• Establish and enforce lab engineering standards, safety protocols, and validation methods (IQ/OQ/PQ).
• Provide accurate turnaround times to Program Managers and executives; manage lab capacity to prevent delays.
• Architect and maintain KPIs (Backlog Aging, Cycle Time, First-Pass Yield) to improve lab efficiency.
• Lead recruitment, onboarding, and growth of the QC team with multi-shift training programs.
• Ensure the lab is audit-ready for ISO 9001, AS9100, and customer requirements.
• Partner with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Digital teams to integrate inspection data with MES/ERP.
