Job summary

Canam Steel Corporation seeks a Quality Control Manager to lead the QC department, ensure compliance with contract requirements, and oversee inspection of structures, equipment and materials.

The role drives QA through audits, develops inspection plans, coordinates with drafting, sales, and production, and mentors QA staff to maintain top quality across manufacturing while ensuring customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or manufacturing field preferred.
• 3–5 years of Quality Control experience.
• 5+ years of progressive management experience preferred.
• CWI certification preferred.
• ASNT Level II/III certifications preferred.
• Knowledge of AISC/ISO certification programs preferred.
• Strong communication and MS Office skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a positive work environment by communicating professionally with customers, co-workers and supervisors.
• Manages direct reports through coaching and training to improve productivity.
• Develops and maintains relationships with customers; coordinates with drafting, engineering, sales and production to meet schedules.
• Plans and directs inspection plans; ensures compliance with contractual requirements and QA standards.
• Directs QA audits and prepares reports to document findings.
• Provides training and tools to enable others to achieve quality and reviews QC processes.
