Job summary

Wells is seeking a high-caliber Quality Control Manager to oversee all QA/QC activities in the plant, supervise inspectors, manage testing, and drive continuous improvement in product quality and processes.

The ideal candidate will bring 5–10 years in concrete construction or related inspection roles, with supervisory experience and certification. Strong data skills and collaboration with Engineering are essential for success.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of experience in concrete construction, inspection, or related field.
• ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician certification required/preferred.
• Previous supervisory experience (1–2 years minimum).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Teams.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify and resolve quality issues.

Responsibilities

• Supervise plant inspectors, testing technicians, and third-party inspection agencies.
• Conduct and oversee raw material testing and concrete mix design development.
• Perform pre- and post-pour inspections of forms and finished products.
• Ensure compliance with Precast and PCI quality standards and manuals.
• Maintain accurate records of all testing, inspections, and quality data.
• Monitor quality metrics, analyze trends, and report issues to management.
• Coordinate with production teams to improve product quality and efficiency.
• Oversee batch plant quality processes, including moisture probes and reporting.
• Verify product finishes, dimensions, and strength requirements prior to shipment.
• Communicate with Engineering to resolve drawing or specification issues.
• Maintain lab equipment, including calibration and preventative maintenance.
• Develop and deliver training programs for quality control personnel.
