Job summary

gpac is seeking an experienced Quality Control Manager to oversee our asphalt and aggregate quality control program in Denver, Colorado. You will lead a team of laboratory technicians and ensure all materials meet DOT and project specifications.

You will collaborate with plant operations to maintain top quality standards, develop asphalt mix designs, and maintain accreditations while coordinating with project teams and agency representatives.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of quality control experience in asphalt, aggregates, or heavy civil construction.
• PE license is a plus.
• Bachelor's degree preferred in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Materials Engineering, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of 4–8 quality control technicians.
• Oversee daily asphalt and aggregate testing in an AMRL and AASHTO accredited laboratory.
• Review and communicate testing results with project teams and plant operations.
• Develop and submit asphalt mix designs.
• Partner with plant and field personnel to identify and resolve quality concerns.
• Maintain laboratory accreditations, certifications, and testing equipment.
• Organize testing documentation and ensure compliance with all specifications.
• Collaborate with project managers, plant managers, customers, and agency representatives.

Qualifications

• Professional Engineer (P.E.) license is a plus.
• Experience with asphalt mix design, laboratory testing, and DOT specifications.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Stonemont software.
• Valid driver's license.

Compensation & Benefits

• $120,000-$140,000+ depending on experience (higher compensation available for candidates with a current P.E. license).
