Job summary

Sunbelt Asphalt Surfaces, Inc. in Auburn, GA, seeks an experienced Asphalt Quality Control Supervisor to oversee QC operations at two plants. You will ensure asphalt materials, processes, and testing meet project specs, GDOT requirements, and company standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of experience in asphalt QC, asphalt plant operations, or a related technical role.
• Strong understanding of asphalt mix design, aggregate gradation, asphalt content testing, and volumetrics.
• Knowledge of ASTM, AASHTO, and GDOT specifications and procedures.
• Experience with QC data analysis, control charts, and corrective action procedures.
• Proven ability to manage quality across multiple production sites.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and QC reporting systems.
• Valid GDOT-required certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and support QC operations at two asphalt plants.

• Review and interpret test results, control charts, and production data.
• Coordinate with plant personnel, QC technicians, field staff, and management to resolve quality issues.
• Oversee aggregate stockpile management, cold feed calibration, asphalt binder control, and mix consistency.
• Investigate nonconforming materials or test results and recommend corrective actions.
• Train, mentor, and evaluate QC technicians and support staff.
• Maintain accurate records, reports, certifications, and calibration documentation.
• Support plant audits, agency inspections, and production troubleshooting.
• Communicate effectively with internal teams, agency representatives, and customers.
• Promote a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

We are seeking an experienced AsphaltQuality Control Supervisor to oversee quality control operations for two asphalt plants. This position is responsible for ensuring that asphalt materials, production processes, and testing activities meet project specifications, Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) requirements, and company standards. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience in asphalt quality control, asphalt plant operations, or related testing and production environments.

Preferred Georgia Certifications

Candidates should, preferably, hold current certifications recognized by GDOT, which may include:

• Asphalt Plant Technician Level 2 certification
• Asphalt Roadway Technician certification
• Mix design/QC-related certification, as applicable
• Any additional GDOT-recognized certifications required for testing, sampling, or QC duties

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior supervisory experience
• GDOT asphalt certifications
• Experience working in QC/QA environments

Physical Requirements

• Ability to work in and around asphalt plant environments
• Ability to lift moderate weights as needed
• Ability to stand, walk, and inspect plant operations in varying weather conditions

This position requires regular presence at asphalt plant sites and occasional travel between facilities. The work environment includes both office/laboratory and outdoor plant settings. Night work is required on special projects.
