The Quality Control Manager provides leadership, coordination, guidance, and technical expertise in all areas of quality. The QCM is responsible for the overall daily operations of quality. This position develops and administers quality-related policies, procedures, techniques, and initiatives to ensure consistent adherence to quality policies and practices on the project.
Requirements:
- In-depth knowledge of Construction Standards and Best Practices
- Working knowledge of the International Building Code and experience with diverse project types
- Ability to delegate tasks and supervise performance
- Excellent analytical skills
- Highly organized and systematic in thinking and processes
- Proficiency in Procore, Viewpoint, SharePoint, MS Office
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in Quality Management, Construction Management, Engineering, or related field
- Minimum of 6 years of construction experience as a Quality Control Manager
Essential Job Duties:
- Collaborate with Project Managers, Superintendents, and subcontractors to develop processes that ensure 100% compliant work exceeding expectations
- Coordinate with project team and subcontractors
- Promote good corporate ethics and quality as core organizational values
- Maintain relationships with engineers, consultants, and industry associations
- Assist in developing project-specific quality management plans
- Support and monitor adherence to quality management plans
- Build and maintain templates for DFOW activities
- Prepare DFOW documentation as required
- Participate in project meetings
- Conduct site visits and inspections
- Assist with plan and constructability reviews
- Review specifications, codes, standards, and contract drawings
- Provide training and coaching on quality risks
- Support risk prevention planning
- Collaborate with the Quality and Construction Science Department to leverage technology for operational excellence
- Operate independently as CQCM, coordinating QC functions without delaying schedules
- Identify and document deficiencies, ensuring timely correction (NCR Log)
- Maintain records of quality activities and tests
- Resolve problems efficiently, analyze information, and develop solutions
- Review shop drawings and submittals for compliance
- Initiate and conduct Three Phase Inspection process and document results
- Chair preparatory and weekly QC meetings with stakeholders
- Verify and document project submittals and quality compliance
- Oversee QC/QA reports to ensure conformance to standards
