SteelCon Inc. in Houston, TX is seeking a full-time Quality Control Manager - Structural Steel Fitter to ensure drawings, dimensions, and materials meet engineering standards before production.

You will review project drawings, verify bolt quantities, confirm specifications, update and finalize drawings, and assemble shop-floor packages while keeping detailed records for audit readiness. This role requires 2–4 years in a fabrication setting, strong communication, and the ability to coordinate

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of experience in a coordination or technical role within a fabrication environment.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and material requirements.
• Familiarity with equipment and facility processes.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Review project drawings to verify dimensions, materials, and instructions align with engineering standards and customer expectations.
• Identify discrepancies before production and collaborate with project managers and design teams to resolve them quickly.
• Verify bolt quantities, confirm specifications, and ensure every detail is correct before production begins.
• Update and finalize drawings, prepare clear, organized shop-floor packages, and ensure the team has what it needs to work efficiently.
• Maintain detailed records, track revisions, and keep documentation audit-ready.
