Job summary

Staker Parson Companies in Salt Lake City, UT, seeks a Quality Control Lab Technician to safely collect samples and analyze soils, aggregates, and asphalt materials. You’ll operate density gauges, follow DOT specs, and document results for project reporting.

Responsibilities include testing procedures, maintaining lab cleanliness, and reporting findings to supervisors while adhering to MSHA/OSHA safety policies and company procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• 1–2 years QC experience preferred.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions.
• Ability to perform basic math and record data accurately.

Responsibilities

• Safely collect samples for testing asphalt materials.
• Set up, operate and maintain nuclear density gauges for compaction.
• Understand state DOT and governing agency job specifications.
• Perform project test procedures per certification level and report results.
• Document results timely and accurately and report non-compliant tests.
