Job summary

OMI Industries is seeking a Quality Control Associate I to perform physical property testing of our odor-eliminating products in accordance with ISO 9001. You will work in our lab, test samples for both OMI and customers, and assist with instrument maintenance.

The role requires attention to detail, strong documentation, and the ability to follow established procedures. Regular hours Mon-Thu 5:00 AM to 3:30 PM EST, with opportunities for growth and benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Associate Degree in Chemistry or related science.
• Ability to walk between buildings (200 feet) up to 20 times daily.
• Excellent written and oral communication; accuracy and clarity.
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
• Ability to meet deadlines within an ISO 9001-compliant environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform all physical property testing per procedures and ISO 9001.
• Compare results against specs and take action for nonconformities.
• Input testing data into internal systems ensuring traceability.
• Conduct water and bacteria testing per documented procedures.
• Investigate abnormal results through root cause analysis.
• Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment per schedules.
• Extract, derive, and analyze samples using scientific equipment.
• Clean and maintain laboratory glassware, instruments, and spaces.
• Perform long-term stability testing and document results.
• Conduct weight checks on production lines and finished goods.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
