Job summary

Publix Super Markets is seeking a quality control associate at our Lakeland bakery plant. You will perform QC inspections, verify temperatures, collect samples, and ensure regulatory compliance across the production flow from receiving raw materials to shipping finished goods.

You will assist teams, taste and evaluate samples, and document all processes while maintaining safety and GMP standards. Flexibility for shifts, including nights and weekends, is required.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Able to work with regulatory inspectors and compliance officials.
• Able to work under pressure and be dependable with good follow-up skills.
• Demonstrate GMPs awareness and safe working habits.
• Able to lift in excess of 25 pounds frequently.
• Able to learn and perform all positions in a fast-paced environment.
• Communicate effectively and be a team player.
• Flexible to work any shift, including nights/weekends/holidays.

Responsibilities

• Perform quality control inspections of ingredients and product information.
• Conduct operational and pre-operational inspections and record findings.
• Ensure FDA regulatory compliance and HACCP records are maintained.
• Verify thermometer readings and monitor product temperatures.
• Collect, process, package, and retain samples for testing.
• Assist other associates in Quality Control across bakery plant functions.
• Tasting and evaluating product samples; provide feedback.
• Record and process customer complaints and maintain documentation.
• Conduct data entry and maintain plant reference books.
• Audit compliance and support continual improvement.
