Job summary

C.W. Roberts Contracting, Inc. (CWR) is seeking a Certified Asphalt Quality Control Lab Technician for our Tallahassee, FL operations. You will test and inspect HMA and GBC materials, review data, and ensure DOT and customer specs are met.

The ideal candidate has 3–6 months experience in asphalt production or QC, can work day to night shifts as needed, and will obtain CTQP Plant Level 1 and 2 certifications after 90 days. We offer competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3-6 months of experience in asphalt production or quality control strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of industry standards and testing procedures for asphalt products preferred.
• Must be able to work in a fast paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
• CTQP Plant Level 1 and 2 certifications required after 90 days.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must be able to work days, nights (including 3rd shift), and weekends as needed.

• Responsible for the testing and inspection of road construction materials, paving techniques, and equipment being used, including but not limited to Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA) and Granular Base Course (GBC)
• Analysis of test data
• Corrective action to prevent non-conforming products
• Documentation and data control
• Ensures manufactured asphalt meets DOT, customer, and job specifications
• Assists in mix design development and changes in plant production
• Performs data collection and reporting
• Complies with all safety requirements
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements:
