The Quality Control Laboratory Technician is responsible for conducting routine and non-routine analytical testing of raw materials and finished products to ensure compliance with quality standards and/or company specifications. The role involves sample preparation, instrumental analysis (e.g., ICP-MS, XRF, XRD), data recording and reporting the result, updating standard operating procedures (SOPs), and maintaining lab equipment and instruments. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented and demonstrates strong proficient in safety compliance and both written and verbal communication. Essential Job Functions:

  • Sample Preparation
  • Perform preparation of routine and non-routine samples in accordance with established protocols and quality standards.
  • Instrumental Analysis
  • Operate and maintain analytical instruments such as ICP-MS, XRF, and XRD while following standard operating procedures (SOPs) and adhering to all safety protocols.
  • Data and Result Management
  • Accurately record test results, generate QC reports, and flag any deviations from specifications. Assist with data trend analysis and support implementation of corrective actions when necessary.
  • Maintain a safe and clean workplace environment (5S and housekeeping)
  • Manage preventative maintenance: Analytical instruments, ICPMS and XRF/XRD.
  • Participates in SOP writing and updating
  • Maintaining consumable inventories of analytical instruments, chemicals, water system, gas, etc.
  • Troubleshoot analytical instrument issues
  • Additional duties as assigned

Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Associate/Bachelors' Degree in science or related field
  • A minimum of one year lab experience in an industrial setting is required, experience in a quality control (QC) laboratory is preferred.
  • Relevant QC lab experience with instruments such as ICPMS, XRF, or XRD may be considered an equivalent substitute for a formal degree
  • The ideal candidate should have experience operating/maintaining/troubleshoot lab instruments
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge and experience with safe industrial laboratory procedures including chemical handling, storage and waste management
  • Eager to learn about new technologies of lab equipment or instruments
  • Proficient in MS-office and email
  • Experience with LIMS is a plus
