Job summary

Position Summary

Primary responsibility is to perform careful and accurate scientific work using a variety of manual and automated procedures, while consistently maintaining compliance with all current regulatory agencies. The performance of EKG's, arterial, capillary and venipuncture phlebotomy is required. Accurate problem solving and judgement in high-pressure situations is required. Providing good customer service to patients, families, visitors, and physicians is also required.





Position Qualifications



Education:

  • Associate of Science in Medical Laboratory Technician




Certification:

  • Certified by a nationally recognized credentialing agency for Medical Laboratory Technician, MLT (ASCP) or MLT (AMT)




Experience:

  • None required, must pass Certification exam within 1 year of hire.

Work Environment/Physical Demands:

  • The ideal candidate must be able to work and complete all physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.

  • Demonstrates the ability to work accurately and effectively in oral and written directions and communication.

  • Use their hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls.

  • Stand for long periods of time.

  • Repeat the same movements.

  • Moderate lifting pulling pushing and carrying in a busy environment. Lifts weights up to 25 pounds.




Working Conditions:

The employee is subject to hazards: Chemical Hygiene Plan and Bloodborne Pathogen guidelines are in place for employee safety. The employee is subject to atmospheric conditions of controlled lab environment.
