Job summary

Armstrong World Industries' Architectural Components Group, Inc. (ACGI) in Marshfield, MO, is seeking a Quality Control Inspector. You will apply quality tolerances, assist Team Leads, and audit products to ensure conformance with specifications.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, be able to read CAD drawings, and bring a woodworking background. 1st shift hours 5am–3:30pm with overtime; benefits and a sign-on bonus are offered.

Monday to Thursday 4/10, overtime on Friday/Saturday

Sign-on Bonus

$1,000 TOTAL = $500 @ 3 months AND $500 @ 9 months of service.

Job Output

The Quality Control Inspector provides knowledge and guidelines for levels of quality required for all ACGI products. This role requires a skilled technical thinker that can aid the Team Leads and the operators in determining if a product meets the quality expectations. Many of these expectations are very well defined through existing tolerances, processes and procedures, but others are more subjective, such as color and grain variations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Works with plant management, team leads and operators in helping determine conformance of products to established quality standards.
  • Conducts daily audits of all products in production.
  • Displays a thorough understanding of how all the ACGI products are to be installed and ensures that the manufactured products produced will meet those guidelines.

  • Plant Environment – This position operates in a manufacturing setting and can be subject to extreme cold and hot temperatures; uneven walking surfaces with cords, tools and other obstacles; intermittent loud noises; and dusty or dirty conditions. Required PPE includes: Hard hat (when required), safety glasses, earplugs, steel toe/composite boots, and fall protection.
Education and/or Experience
  • Minimum of high school diploma or GED
  • Four-year carpentry apprentice program or applicable trade preferred.
  • Three years of hands‑on custom woodworking experience preferred
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
  • Prefer: OSHA 10 hour training,
  • See Individual Contributor (Grade 1-6)

  • Ability to multitask in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment

About the location (Marshfield MO)

Architectural Components Group, Inc. (ACGI), a subsidiary of Armstrong World Industries, Inc. (AWI), is one of twenty AWI plants in North America. Our Marshfield plant in south western Missouri is conveniently located within 3 hours to large cities such as Tulsa, Kansas City, and St. Louis as well as within 30 minutes to the smaller city of Springfield.
